Remote Preparation:

The vision is brought to life during the remote marriage preparation process of growth and development that takes place during childhood and the teenage years.  The meaning of sexuality cannot be understand outside of the vision of marriage and the capacity for fulfill the marital covenant cannot be realized outside of the scope of family life education which addresses the broader context of faith and character formation in virtue.

Proximate Preparation:

An understanding of the marital pedagogy is of valuable assistance to the young adult who has entered the stage of dating and courtship yet has not yet decided upon a particular spouse.

Immediate Preparation:

It is applied to the couple who is about to enter into marriage and must confirm their readiness to accept those responsibilities.  They must confirm that their vision and the Church’s are the same.  They also come to understand what they will in turn pass on to their children.
