The efforts of parents to raise their children to become adults by educating the children the the values that the couple hold together is what amounts to what is called remote preparation. Remote preparation takes place from the time of conception until the 18th year of life. The experience of family life has the most profound impact upon forming one for marriage. The roles of husband/wife/mother/father/brother/sister are all portrayed through the experience of daily life. The Church's vision is brought to life during the remote marriage preparation process of growth and development that takes place during childhood and the teenage years. The meaning of sexuality cannot be understand outside of the vision of marriage and the capacity for fulfill the marital covenant cannot be realized outside of the scope of family life education which addresses the broader context of faith and character formation in virtue.
