Pastoral Counseling Volume 2: Guide to Marriage Preparation

We identify the stages of formation, preparation and fulfillment and present practical approaches, interventions and pedagogical approaches as we consider:

1.        The essential vision of marriage

2.        How it can be effectively communicated through immediate marriage preparation

3.        How it is expanded and addressed through the proximate and remote stages

4.        How these things effect marriage and family life

5.        How understanding of these things combines with the education, formation and simple grace of sacramental office to counsel and serve the families who are trying to live these things out and encounter the various common dynamics.

6.        How to care for couples in the personal encounters thus meeting them where they are, seeing what the couples sees, helping them see what the Church sees and walk them through.  This will bring up the issue of intimacy, which is a critical dynamic for any seminarian to appreciate.
