Institute of Thomistic Psychology Curriculum

Editors Note:

Below is a sample curriculum of the critical program of study for a sound psychology.  Year one contains the primary identification of the necessary sciences.  Though courses can be obtained at undergraduate or graduate levels it is advisable that the student complete the philosophy and theology courses at the undergraduate level in order to establish a sound foundation.

This is a draft, however, it is fairly accurate.

TOTAL CURRICULUM[3] CREDITS  91[4]

[1] The first year plus the courses involving The Science of Mental Health, comprise the critical coursework that is atypical for modern psychology curriculum.

[2] This branch of philosophy is referred to as rational psychology and where we find the ontological structure.

[3] This allows for possibility of covering state requirements for licensure to some degree.

[4] These credits may be obtain at the graduate or undergraduate levels as part of a larger credit pool.  However, it is advised that the philosophy and coursework which presents the subalternate principles take place earlier on to develop sound mental habits and formation from which then to view modern psychology.
