The Institute of Thomistic Psychology

The Family Life Institute is presently working with Father Chad Ripperger, author of "Introduction to the Science of Mental Health" to develop the "Institute of Thomistic Psychology.  The focus of the institute will be to identify the rudiments of a sound science of psychology utilizing the ontological principles from superior sciences upon which psychology relies for its own principles.  The most important work is contained within The Introduction to the Science of Mental Health, which is available through the Family Life Institute.  We will be providing information on that within the next few weeks.  We are also working to develop internet courses for the subject matter.

The general education is psychology does not include the formation in those sciences which are critical to a proper understanding of the nature of the human person and his acts.  A brief discussion of the invalidity of modern psychology and its sub-alternated position can be found in  Establishing a Sound Psychology: Session One.

One of the intentions of the institute will be to assist students of psychology in identifying the necessary education.  In this way, students may be able to select institutions of learning that offer not only a curriculum in psychology but access to essential coursework that may not be part of that curriculum but may be taken in electives.  The student may also seek other institutions which provide these courses during summer programs or other opportunities such as distance learning modules.  We are presently developing distance learning modules to supplement the standard education in psychology.  The Family Life Institute Coursework represents an initial representation relative to the coursework of Dr. DiVietri in service of his students at Christendom and Mount St. Mary's Seminary.

The Family Life Institute is currently seeking what recourse it can take to stop the activities of the  website in question.
